Yes, same car, but this turbo is much bigger (and replaces the twin sequential setup).

With regards to the OP, I'm not up to speed on the MK5 diesel engines but on the MK4 I know that the 150bhp turbo was a direct fit to the 130bhp engine so you'd only need the mapping to see it running tidy

A number of 130bhp TDI's are running a hybrid (uprated) version of the 150bhp turbo's and seeing a minimum of 230bhp and 350lbs ft toque

Following that logic I would have thought a 170bhp turbo would be a direct fit to the 140bhp engine
Does your 140bhp have the DPF fitted or are you one of the lucky ones that don't? Either way a decat downpipe will help free up some mid range grunt and help increase average power across the rev range making for a much quicker car
