sub enclosures.....

right, as i need this to be removable i aint goin making any boxed in areas in the boot, so if any of you lot have a basic design for a sub box (10") could you post dimensions on here???
i have sh@t loads of mdf of different thicknesses at work so will make it there just need a 'plan' to work to!!!!

If ya already got the speaker it will tell ya minimum volume - prob in cubic feet.
So to give yourself a bit of a front panel you will need a 12" x 12" to sit the speaker in. Then ya can make the depth of the box to suit the volume.

ill have to check me sub (was in shelf) its somewhere safe so ill have to dig it out then and see what it says!!

Hope u've still got the box or the literature then.

If not try the manufactureres website, might give ya the info needed.

1 to 1.5 cu ft is usually enuff.

right knocked up a box at work last night, dimentions are:

18"x14"x14" ive put a port hole in it as well as my sub hole (port hole can be blocked off again if not needed, so ill try it at the weekend!, i havent got a clue what the cubic whatever of that will be??? when its carpeted it should look sweet

Thats just over 2 cu ft. If those are external dimensions then it will be a bit smaller but will still be near to 2 cu ft.

So that should be a good size.

yeah there external measurements, and the mdf is 3/4" thick, so hopefully will sound ok when done, gonna have to see how it sounds with the port open and closed before i carpet it......
