didn't know this was an option.  dealer fit i presume.

safety vest would be the bright yellow vest you wear when you've broken down in a dangerous area and need to get out of the car.

I've been contributing to threads started by other people but no new threads of my own - my car has been ordered....

Current state of mind....the order went in last week - the dealer tells me that I could see the car in March - he said I can change the spec until I get a build date which I should have between 4 and 6 weeks from now. The only doubt niggling still is the manual/DSG debate - I like manual and I did test drive the DSG twice - that said, of course I was more comfortable with the manual as that's what I'm used to in cars - I guess it takes time to get used to a DSG and that after a while, I'd get used to the DSG - the worry is that if I get the manual, I'll wonder if I did the right thing - if I go for DSG, I'll get used to it and probably won't  think about the manual - the DSG might be the safer option in that respect.

Yes, read it ages ago. It's personal and I know that nobody can say anything to help me decide - I'm not tearing myself apart over this - if I stick with manual, it'll be ok. I'm just letting you guys know what I'm thinking...

Go and drive them both again, back to back, it's the only way to decide. There is no right and wrong, i'd have either but I wouldn't pay the extra cost of DSG on a new car.

It's not really a money thing - even if there was no cost difference between manual and DSG, i'd still not know what to do - driving DSG again won't really help because I know I'd still feel more comfortable with manual - I've driven manual for 25 years (except for a 6 month period) - it's a question of whether I stay with manual or put some trust in the new technology and believe I'll like it just like the other DSG guys seem to enjoy it - stay where I'm comfortable or move on...
