Thnx, RJ - that's pretty well how I feel - maybe I'll stick with manual and just ignore the niggles, however heavy they get

Don't ignore the niggles, you'll have to change gear at some time.

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

I'll stick with manual or I'll suddenly spring into action and, on the spur of the moment, I'll change to DSG - either way, I'll get a build date and then whatever I've decided, that's what I'll get - I don't think I'll care either way...

If you're this indecisive about this, I'd hate to be behind you when you're actually driving

Best I drive in full auto so that the car makes the gear change decisions, not me!

qualified as a solicitor but never practised (that's fortunate for the English justice system!)  -

I'm 'in business'.

....and...changing spec....manual to DSG  -  determined not to have this car go much over £25K so throwing out the sunroof and cruise control (that's half the DSG cost)  -  my eldest son loves heated seats so winter pack (£350!) stays  -  I do not want to spend £27/8K on this car  -  too much. Staying metallic paint (carbon grey) and RCD510 with Dynaudio....and other little things.

You're crazy! just stick with the manual that's what you're used to and you know what you're doing with it.  DSG just too much dosh for what it is, an old ladies aid to driving, who needs it?

I've changed the order already  - it's the new technology, I must move on, must embrace the future (I sound like I've been programmed by the DSG brigade)  -  there's a lot to do with DSG  -  auto, knock the 'lever' up and down, paddles, normal, sport  -  I'm just hoping that when I get used to it, I'll enjoy the flexibility  -  got to try it.

DSG is phemomenal , brilliant!! I bet if you drove a dsg for a week you would never go back to manual??? Worth every penny I say!! Steve30
