Pretty sure it's just a strip of chrome that runs along the bottom edge of the tailgate, i've seen it before, it's a dealer fit accessory. just had a lokk on the vw website but theres no image just the description.
Having said that i could be completely wrong :embarassed:

I'm not a car washer - lazy - better off with carbon grey? I like red but maybe more sensible to go with a metallic or pearlescent colour (thinking resale) - Don't the greys clash with the cloth colours - black, white and red partner the cloth best IMO.

I don't think any of the colours you mention will affect resale price.  They are all desirable.

And black is a b!tch to keep clean.

So I should steer clear of black?
I like red but resale value might call for metallics and/or pearlescent - red is supposed to be unpopular on the second hand market but surely not the case with the Gti. I do like carbon grey and I imagine it doesn't have the black/white dirty look problem - I still think the carbon grey clashes with the 'jac' cloth interior colour
