Boost Gauge Fitted - sorted! 27PSI anyone?

bah - nothing is fooking straightforward is it  

went to connect it all up at lunchtime; simples plugged in the t piece, connected it up and went for a spin; saw a MAX of 5PSI   Urm, no thats not right.......

So had a look around; couldn't see anything obvious - nothing trapped etc....so tried the t piece a different way and lo and behold it works! except it now buzzes again..........

After speaking with Mr Dave I believe I somehow need to connect one end back into the system much like you petrol lads do.....any suggestions?

It was originally fitted to the bottom piece but that doesn't show hardly any boost

That looks like a good job well done, i do prefer that over the steering column mounted ones as i imagine they get in the way of viewing the clocks.

Do you live near me i could let you do mine

how much effort is it to get it fitted in the vent?

took a bit of hacking as you can see from the pics but otherwise it was fairly straightforward

right - looks like I was a bit of a numpty and fitted it the wrong way........

the T of the part goes to the boost gauge and NOT from the EGR delete  :embarassed:

I'll swap it around later and report back

I'll be looking into doing that at a later point    Though I still want some air to travel through the vent to help keep my window free of mist.

The slats also control a vent at the back similar to the one found on a standard air vent so in effect you get two block off points 

I'll venture back out in a bit and fit the t piece correctly.........

What Wes is referring to is what was my actual problem at the very end.......

I did refit the t piece correctly before I set off home only to see zero boost    Got home (went the gym) then got out my torch and had a poke around.  Turned out I'd kinked the pipe running into the back of the gauge  :embarassed:

Unkinked and took it for a quick spin    Only a short piece of road but I saw 27PSI at approx 2200rpm, then 23PSI at approx 3500rpm before settling at 20PSI at the redline or thereabouts; that was done in 2nd and 3rd

So I finally have a working, non buzzing boost gauge
