« on: 06 November 2009, 01:05 »
Can anyone help or offer some advice.
I have a mrk 4 gt tdi and when its been stood over night and i start it first thing it is really rough and some times lacks power, and is fine every time i start it after.

I have had the car checked and the garage said there was no faults with maf etc and they changed a temp sensor but the problem is still
there.

Just if anyone can help.

Cheers
Dan

how do,

You've changed the plugs right?  If they are fairly new (or you have tested them working) then have a look at your glow plug relay....

what plugs are you on about? Diesels don't have spark plugs.

How long does the glow plug lamp stay on for when your first turn the ignition on?

you mentioned plugs but weren't specific to what plugs you meant and the way you wrote you post implied that they were changed recently and its very seldom you have to change glow plugs on a diesel car

I was just pointing out to the OP not to look for something that don't exist on his car

And surely you could come up with a better insult then muppet

Okay muppet was a bit poor, i'll stick to sheep seeking taff from now on ;)

Where's the fun in going to a leisure centre?  :undecided:  Half the fun is chasing them around the hills

Get the battery / alternator checked out too just in case its low and needs changing

Also check all your hoses for splits / cracks etc

does the car lose any coolant / oil etc?
