Is United Grey the same as Steel Grey?
« on: 17 October 2009, 16:37 »
It seems that United Grey and Steel Grey are the same colour. Is this correct?

Trying to decide choice of colour. Shadow Blue is too conservative. Rising blue is too Ford ASBO. Have narrowed options down to: Black, Steel grey and Carbon grey. Would be grateful for any United / Steel grey GTI Mk VI pictures.

Also, does anyone know if you can get electric seat adjustment if you specify leather?
Golf R - almost on order - 5-door, DSG, Rising Blue, leather, 19" alloys, RNS510 with Dynaudio, ACC, Sunroof, Parking camera and sensors, luxury pack and cruise control.

Yes its the same colour.

Rising blue is the same metallic blue available on the scirocco, so its easy to get a look at this colour in real life which is the best way imo to pick any colour as they all look different to photos. Its also used in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWvL7wGuff0  Its nothing like the colour shown on volkswagen.de just incase thats were you ruled it out from.

Grey is just the best colour on all cars! IMO
Ferrari's, Aston's, M3's etc. All look best in grey. It's the perfect balance of stealth bomber and still bringing out the highlights in design.

Hi Tailpipe,

I can't see that Carbon Grey is an option on the R....

I specced Steel Grey as the best compromise - Black is way too much work to keep clean. Got a Black Gti at the mo
