White looks good on washing machines, fridges, fridge/freezers, dishwashers and all the other 'white goods' out there :evil:

Snoopy:
That is that: 'grey primer' and those boring 'white goods'.
What ever next? :rolleyes:
I think there may be some hate mail on its way! :grin:

I can´t stop wondering why things suddenly changes names as soon as they enter UK  :laugh:

Detroit = Monza
United Grey = Steel Grey
Opel = Vauxhall
Etc.....

It´s a complete mystery, someone who can give me a hint ?

Opel/Vauxhall i can but the rest no.
VW has a habit of naming wheels after race tracks. I guess Monza is more european than detroit

I loved the Steel/United Grey on my mk5.
Would have been the colour of choice for my mk6 too if I'd have had the patience to wait 10 years for a factory order.

So I have boring silver. I like boring silver, means I don't have to wash the car very often.  :lipsrsealed:

When I first saw this, I thought it was a Seat Ibiza diesel! Doesn't suit the R at all :undecided:

Yeah, I had an Ibiza Diesel in that colour. Hated that car, only kept it a few months. The old Ibizas rock though, and I still use one as my daily driver. Makes you realise how piss poor all round visibility is on modern cars when you drive an older one regularly, I'm always losing cars in blind spots on my Golf, that simply doesn't happen very often on my 13 year old SEAT.

While the R is a subtle car, spending over £30k on a grey car to make it look like a diesel.
It will be Common, but it has to be blue for me.

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

I have been using an old mini in the winter months so know what you meen. I have just been trying to squeeze the mk1 GTI in the corner of the garage to try and make room for the mk6 when it arrives and you forget just how much visability older cars have. The mk1 were one of the cars that use to get slated for bad visability too due to the rear quarters.
I find it a shame car makers moved away from primary saftey to secondary saftey. One of he reasons i went for the mk6 was it did not have stupid useless quarterlight windows at the front like some of its rivals.

Yeah, I'm with you on that Snoops, and I have a nasty feeling the next generation Golf will have that feature just like the Leon does (sister car). Fingers crossed that won't happen. The new Polo just avoids it (black plastic blanking plate instead) so there may be hope for the Golf!

One thing I used to love about my mk1 was the really deep back window, it may have made the boot small but it doesn't half make parking easy.
