Are you planning to simply replace the standard in-dash headunit for an Alpine? Are there any steering wheel controls? Is any track information displayed on the dash for the standard unit?

Ok you can either consider a double din headunit, get a single din headunit and leave the cd changer, get a single din headunit and replace the cd changer with a pocket/storage tray.
Either way pull out the standard cassette player and have a look at the connections - if they are ISO then you won't need a connector (unless you have steering wheel controls) most aftermarket headunit will fit straght in. Check the aerial connector in case you need an adaptor for that.

yh the back is an iso block.. my cd changer does connect staright onto iso block but my standard unit has 3 slots wheras aftermarket ones normally have 2  :undecided:

so i presume the cd changer wont work with it then.. if i get a double din will cd changer work fine from it? as i have personally never seen double din connecitions so no idea on them

cant you get connectors from my standard cd changer to the single din alpine headunits

a vw changer will only work with a vw h/u
surely if your new h/u is mp3 then you won't need a changer anyway

As above do you really want to keep the standard cd changer?

Go for either the double din, you can get ones that do virtually everthing - bluetooth, MP3, iPod etc. Or settle for a single din and leave the changer/replace with a pocket.
