I can't believe Herbie has waited so long.
This is my 1st VW. I think most dealers allocate their cars to previous customers 1st or someone who keep harrassing them every week about their build week.

I did not call them. They did keep me up to date all the time. I am quite impress with VW keep updating their customer to keep them interested in what they had ordered. I don't get this level of customer care with other brands! Hope their servicing department is just as good!

Bought my insurance for the car already-28/10/09. Assume it will take 3 weeks for them to ship the car over and prep the car ready (Including fitting my Fiscon) for delivery!

I've never had a VW before either.  And I don't think the dealer was really listening when I said my mother bought a Polo from them about 20 years ago, or that my father used to know the previous owner of the garage in the 1950s.

I really don't know how I got such a great discount and no delays!

Rolfe.

Maybe they are hoping a return favour when their cat/dog got sick. You might able to offer them a decent discount!

Here Kev, I believe your insurance  I was quoted £240 fully comp with £250XS

Anyway I bet you are praying the post office don't strike tomorrow like they say they are!!!

I'd phone VW insurance at 9 when it opens and you could have the car for 10 as they do it all via email.

Its free and its why it is there...use it

Thanks dude, I think the trick for us, was that I had insurance from a previous company and my misses shopped around and found a deal with Diamond. They would only insure her as the main driver and me as a 2nd driver. They would under no circumstances insure me as the main driver. Anyway, we were at £230 with ourselves on the insurance, and when we put her dad on it, we went to £198.08 to be exact. We have an excess of £325

Erm, I have totally forgot about the mail strikes, I really hope the come through for us now. If the documents dont arrive at the dealer by 1 or even 2pm at the latest, then I'll get the VW insurance sorted.

I'm gonna have to pick the car up at night (no choice) but I of course want to inspect it during the day so will have to take a long lunch tomorrow or at the very latest friday.

Good luck mate. Take your time inspecting the car. Its so easy to be overawed by its beauty and the desire to just get in and drive. I'll no doubt see you scooting about Glasgow.

I'm not in general practice!  I'm not sure I could even manage a cheap blood test!
