Car now had its PDI done and is fine. Faxed insurance documents to the dealer this morning but they now have came back and said they cant accept a copy and need an original !! Thats gonna set me back a few days ?

Can't you just use this 7 day insurance offerred by VW?

I asked the dealer about that as I have just signed the Conformation of Registration Details form. He said its easier to get an original copy of the insurance as the 7 day insurance from VW I'd have to ring from the dealer's garage and it takes around 2 hrs on the phone.

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

Insurance company is sending the documents by special delivery for tomorrow, it will be sent direct to the garage and will be with them between 9 and 1pm - Good news there.

Also, with a name switch on our insurance, misses down as main driver and me as 2nd driver, the GTi insurance for us is £198 for the year. Not too shabby.

Definitely worth considering this - takes the pressure off getting your own docs to the dealer. I used the 7 day deal to avoid my new insurance beginning before 1st October. Fully comp, but doesn't include business cover

Its cool, with the insurance sending the insurance stuff by special delivery to the dealers tomorrow, I wont need the 7 day insurance now. Will defo do it if for any reason the docs go missing in the post. also, thats our finance all sorted and paid, we could get the car tomorrow night, or friday at the latest

I know you've got it all sorted now but what he told you about the 7 day cover is bollox, I've aranged this twice now and it takes about 10-15 mins to get a quote over the phone, tell them to ram it then tell them the dealer you're getting it from.  Easy.

Great price on the insurance!  Bet you can't wait..
