Will the top mounts explain the horendous knocking coming from the front especially when braking hard down hill.

coz i think i got the same problem.. The handleing is fooked and it knocks and bangs over the slightest bumps.

Its driving me nuts and the rear is just as bad to.... any suggestions.

Check your anti-roll bar links. They come undone sometimes, like on our Golf, they squeaked and knocked when braking ect.

My top mounts are raised, obviously worn out. What is the disadvantage to this, other then having raised mounts? (Sorry for acting ignorant)

Golf MK3 1.8 auto and I didn't pay a grand for the "priveledge" :grin:, auto windows all round and a AC. Oh and I've got a luggage net you pricks!

Does that make my willy look bigger?

Oh yeah it's called Helda or something....

what do you mean top mounts raised coz on mine  theres about 10mm or 15mm gap  between them from the strut mount to the srut tops.
