mine drops bang on 5k, i only had timing belt done a month ago! but i find it seriosly nippy and never rev it that high anyway so safe mode all the way for me

the garage has blatantly screwed up the timing / fitment of the belt then. GET BACK ASAP!

Donk know when or if the cam belt was changed as ive only had the car for about 3 weeks.

But there are plenty of botch's...

It came with new brake pads but the other day 1 of the rear calipers came of becuse a bolt was missing and the other was rounded of.

The wheel only had 3 out of 5 bolts on and all the others only had 4. On the other rear wheel 2 out of the 4 were only hand tight and all the rest were way to tight.  I had to take it to my local garage to get these of as i couldnt budge them...

Ive also got a drivers door with a manual window. Weird seeing as a the rest are electric.  i even have a button on my drivers door but that only closes the passenger window, doesnt open it just up and thats all....weird

The back box was only held on with spot welds.... the peice of pipe from the mid section to the back box was just spot welded togeather and had gap's all around it causeing the exhaust to blow. I'll get a pic today its shocking.

This car came with 12 months m.o.t which is a fooking miracle.

slight adjustment of the phase angle will sort this problem, it seems to be a common fault. had the same issue with mine, belt was lined up fine but the phase angle was out by 10 degrees or so.

the what angle?

cam belt looks old so its not that.

why did i buy it?  to be fair no 1 but the ass who botched the brakes could have known 1 would come of.. I dont check for missing wheel nuts when i buy cars but i will from now on...

I didnt notice the exhaust til i got it up in the air to fix the brakes seeing as everything looks and sounds ok..

got the car of ebay for £570 sold as seen. Broke down on the way home (crusty ht leads) when i finnaly got there and tryed to lock it both lock barrows came out with the key in them.... i was not happy

A very loud phone conversation soon followed.  But im stuck with it and to be honest the body, paint, and even the engine are in pretty good nick.  If i didnt have a mk2 sucking up my hard earnt cash a few hundred quid would turn this dog into nice motor....

You need to get the cam timing checked by someone that knows what they are doing.
