PG TANTRUM 1200.1 MONOBLOCK

Ive recently brought this amp to power a Kicker 15" ls7 dual 4 ohm sub .
I need to know to get the best out of this amp do i need to buy the following ?
1   PG pro line driver
2    pg bass cube
Or will it be all right by it self to power the sub??
Its rated at 1400 watts rms ( so they say), to achieve this would i need to boost my charging system to obtain 14.4v
Please help me out , iwant to get it right first time!!
Anybody got one , is it all its made out to be!!!!

you'll probably need 0 gauge cabling to power that beast. I don't know much about the PG amps. If you haven't already put a bigger alternator on to keep the juice flowing. with that phat cable it should be alright.

id say it'll be fine to power the sub without line drivers etc.., wire it to show 2ohm rather than 8ohm to drag as much juice from the amp as possible, as for 14.4v, that i think is what a car should be chucking out, engine at average driving revs, at tick over it's about 0.8v lower. and everything off is anything from 12v - 13.2v for a fully charged battery. make sure your earth is as thick as your power, and uprating the big 3 would also help alot wityh the power supply.

Don't know what the state of your battery is but if your getting dimming lights then i'd consider running an uprated battery upfront, or even a second battery in the boot (which i've done) then you should never have power issues unless you really go wild

Thank you for the advice .  Do you think  i could run a Denon dca 800 amp 6 channel  amp plus the PG 1200.1 off 1 large battery  & 120 amp alternator plus a large cap ( i dont fancy a extra battery in the boot !!!
 Or is it necessary  i should split charge & run a cap as well , to get the best out of the amps.

i've never used a cap so couldn't comment on them, but i reckon with a decent battery and good cabling you'll be fine my alts only 90, uprated from 55! and that keeps both batteries always topped up coping with 4 average amps and a xover so id see how you go. try fitting the biggest battery you can in the space available and see how it copes, you might find you don't even need cap in the end.
