If its the water pump avoid driving it far or its goodbye engine.

right just went for a little cruise... gave the car a good push also... and the tempreture was stable at 90! just where it should be its not going up or down now! im completely confused now  :undecided:

could be the temperature sender, this tells the ECU how much choke to put on via water temp

hmm i dont know if i should wait to see if the tempreture rises again or just change it??  :sad:

the car runs absolutely fine no juddering or idle problems or nothing.

its just the like when the whole engine shaked.. happened once then vanished  :undecided:

do you have VAG COM to check if the temp sender has an intermittant fault?

If not I'd change it for piece of mind anyways, it's not an expensive part

nope got no vag com.. if i get one of ebay will that pick it up if there is a fault?

really sounds like the water pump, dont be deceaved as i was.

My car did the same but just got worse, started getting a little hot then dropping back to 90 then it was fine for days then it just gave up all together

Sorry for the bad news if its the pump but it should only cost around £140 to have it changed dependant on whenthe last time you had the  belts done

im pretty broke for another two weeks so ill have to see how goes until then .. im gonna drive it tomorow and tuesday for my exams then gonna just park it up until i got the cash  :sad:

If it continues to run hot, you'll end up with a head gasket failure.
