Just found better than buyacar.co.uk

http://www.autobytel.co.uk/NewCars/NewCarDetails.aspx?Car=43134

Autobytel - £20,240 with 12 months free tax - they also have discounts on the extras, around 10% on most of them.
Just beat it again

http://www.dealdrivers.co.uk/html/new_golf.html

£20,092 with Road tax, or even the DSG version for £21,263 which is a great price.

WOW these are good prices!!!    Has anyone ever bought a car of the net? Are there any catches???

Well, with dealdrivers.co.uk, you are not actually buying from them and dont give them any money. They arrange this price with one of their nearest dealers in your area. So you order on the dealdrivers site (or phone), pick your extras (which are discounted too) then you pick up the car from the dealer they advise you to. It could be someone very close by, or it could be a dealer a little farther away. Saves you the hassle of haggling with the VW dealer direct, they do it all for you and your guranteed the price you see. Result in my book.

when you think about it, all were doing is taking off the price hike because of the weak £.

Were still not getting a good deal, because once the pound is strong/normal again the depreciation will hit the car hard.

What gives you the idea that the pound will become 'normal' again - it may well be that this IS normal now.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Holiday cottages on the Isle of Wight for 2-10 people? PM me.

If you know anything about economics, when the economy recovers so will the pound, we may not see the dizzy heights of almost $2 or 1.5e euros to the £ like we saw in the past, but it will get stronger as the economy does.

It's a fair question to ask though, and what you have now made me think about is when it does recover, will VW pass on the savings..... I very much doubt it.
