Help with lights
« on: 21 January 2009, 11:01 »
I've bought a 4 lamp grill with inner spots, problem is tho that the leads on the back of the inner spots have 2 prongs on the end them but the the leads attached to the car have 3 holes, did they change the leads on a certain year or do I have the  wrong leads? Any help would be great.

It is a GTi but had a 2 lamp grill fitted when I bought it,I assumed it would all just plug in.

Do you have the flogs plugged in where you should have the spots plugged in?

Can you post pics of all plugs concerned, as these things should just plug in.....

The two wire connector off the middle lamp connects to another wire which daisy chains off the H4 main beam connector.

I just rewired it when I uprated the loom

are the plugs you're trying to use rectangualr with like a rubber boot on?  If so you're probably looking at the electric headlight control motor plugs.  Some cars just dont have the spotlight plugs on, VAG sell liek adaptor plugs that go between the headlight plugs & the headlights.   If it was me though I'd get an uprated headlight loom which also runs the spots, theres plenty on ebay
