I was thinking we should have a new thread dedicated to the tracking of the car transporters from Emden
I see the EMS HIGHWAY is a few miles away from Grimsby i'm hoping my car is currently on-board.

I used to check the boats when my Scirocco shipped from Santander!!
Was you a confirmed 33? Or a confirmed 32 that slipped? I was a confirmed 33 and my tracker only changed to In Transit today.
-
Yeah I was a week 32 that slipped to 33 and my car went into transport on the Wednesday 14th of August. According to the trackers its not in the UK as yet. Fingers crossed im on the above boat.
-
Right, so I was a 33 that slipped too.... useless!! So end of September for me now then. Fingers crossed! That's 6 months from order to collection almost to the day!
-
While I think about it, what does your order tracker say for In Transit? Does it have an ETA or number of days?
-
Your car is on the next stage of its journey to the UK. On average it takes 3 weeks for this model to reach your local Volkswagen Retailer.
-
Thanks for those links, mk7.
This looks like the next one coming in to sheerness. Due in tomorrow evening... Hope some of the southern members' cars (especially mine) are on board

I'm hoping mines on board as well, but out of interest, how do you know that VW use the EMS Highway ?
-
I cant be 100% sure wishful thinking

The three you want to watch are AUTORUNNER, AUTOPRESTIGE, and EMDEN.
AUTORUNNER left Emden a couple of hours ago for Sheerness, then normally goes to Grimsby before returning to Emden. (I think this is a shared vessel with BMW and whatever is ready to ship at the time).
AUTOPRESTIGE is currently on the way from Sheerness to Emden, not due to leave Emden until Late Saturday / Early Sunday. (But this changes a lot, if it's full it sails it seems). This seems to be all VW. I think my car will be on that one.
EMDEN is on it's way to Spain, but always returns to Emden and then does Sheerness and Grimsby generally. This boat doesn't seem to stop at all, where as the others can be docked for days, so a bit of a dark horse, but it's quick.
If the tracker says "In transit" blah... 4 weeks.. it's on it's way to Emden...
If the tracker says "In transit" blah... 3 weeks.. it's at Emden waiting for a boat...
If the tracker says "In transit" blah... 10 days.. it's on a boat!

Thanks gtg. Are you basing your last three lines on some solid intel? Mine has said in transit... 3 weeks etc. since last week and in that time boats have left emden for sheerness... Please don't let it be hailstorms!
-
Mine has said '3 weeks' since Sunday 18th. Today was confirmed as still being at Emden. I've used other people's history plus my own details to come up with that theory, so it's not concrete, but I'm pretty sure that's how the tracker works :)

Good work GtG, that's top info!

Thanks for this awesome info GTG I'm now currently sat here watching the next boat to Emden and hoping my car gets there and gets on that boat ready for whenever it leaves

Try not to get your hopes up too much - my dad's GTD saw 3 boats off before it got onto the one that bought it to Tyne dock. Hopefully though, considering the wait they'll prioritise your shipping.
Are you the last Tornado Red BW33 car to leave the plant that we know of?

Thanks MH I am going to try and keep the excitement under control and expect a potentially long period sat on In Transit.
But I was quietly hoping that due to the factory being behind that the 33 cars that were delayed would be some of the first "of the next batch" to get to the docks so would potentially jump straight onto the next available ship.
I could well be the last of the reds from 33 to my knowledge unless someone else shouts up ?

Best way mate, set your own expectations and you stand less chance of winding up stressed over it!
-
The tracker has now updated for me to:
"Your car is in the final stage of its journey to the UK. On average it takes 10 days from build for this model to reach your local Volkswagen Retailer."
As yet it hasn't moved to in the UK but lets hope that coming soon

My TR was started to be built this Monday just gone - I wouldn't have thought it will be on the same boat as you chaps as that's asking for too much efficiency, so I would imagine I'm the last of the TR BW33 cars to be built and shipped - just not as yet

Mine went from "10 days" to "Arrived in the UK" within two days so it shouldn't be too long buddy!...
-
I bet most remaining BW 32/33 cars will be getting on the AUTOPRESTIGE when it docks in a couple of hours. Getting ready to continually refresh the tracker

Given that mine doesn't say in transit yet I'm not holding my breath that mine will be on that boat! You have an excellent chance however!

The tracker is unlikely to change the minute the car arrives on these shores. Will probably take a few days if not into next week so I wouldn't hold my breath
-
I dunno... I think the new tracker is pretty close to realtime. Mine went from build to transit 1 then transit 2 all within 30 hours in line with the dealers system. Fingers crossed...
-
Buggar, just had a call to say that in fact mine wasn't on a ship but is still at Emden
Hopefully will be on a boat within the next 3-5 days !
-
Given the "shipping priority" mine is supposed to be getting, i'm wondering whether mine is:-
1. Getting on a ship that isn't going to Tyne (maybe Grimsby) but will be transported up to Sunderland regardless.
2. Getting on a ship that isn't going directly to Tyne from Emden, but will stop there after Sheerness or Grimsby.
3. Getting on the next direct Emden to Tyne ship that is at least beyond the 4th of Sept (as far as I can see).
Still saying "4 weeks" within the "in transit" section, implying it is not yet at Emden. I have had 2 different VW UK people today say that my car was arriving/had arrived there this morning. Sometimes this tracker doesn't seem very accurate at all.
-
Just hope it's not getting on a ship going to China or something!

Exactly! I wouldn't rely too much on the tracker to be honest.
-
Mines motor is now in the UK 1 day after changing to the ten day status.
-
Excellent news!
Really hoping mines on the one that's just left no tracker update yet, VW said "on a boat by the first" so have everything crossed.
-
Morning all,
Looks like my car made it onto the autoprestige as the vw tracker has updated to the 10 days to arrive at the dealer. Hopefully not too much longer!
On another note I drove past an m135 the other day, didn't look bad, but still personally I prefer the golf :-)
Cheers,
Phil

how do you see when the next boat is scheduled for?
My car gone from the 4 week to 3 week message so guess its kinda checked in at the docks now, waiting for a ship :)

There are a few shipping websites to look at scheduled departures from Emden and scheduled arrivals at the port you are expecting your car to be shipped to (Sheerness/Grimsby/Tyne).
Next vehicle carrying ship to Grimsby from Emden is the Schelde Highway. There is a car carrier called "Thames Highway" coming into Emden tomorrow to pick up more cars, but as of yet I can't tell where it is going.

port of Tyne has an excellent website of it's own, but Grimsby and Sheerness don't seem to have a good one of their own that I can google.
http://www.portarrivals.com, good for seeing what is coming into Emden and checking on the ship's usual route to determine if your expected port of arrival in the UK is serviced on it's usual voyage "loop".
marinetraffic.com is OK, but doesn't show very far ahead.
"City of Rotterdam" is on a regular Emden to Tyne route. The ship is due in at Emden tomorrow at 1pm. Port of Tyne's website doesn't have it down as a future destination after Emden. That's not to say it won't be heading that way (I hope it will). Perhaps the next destination won't be confirmed for Tyne's own website until it has arrived at Emden (if it is going to Tyne next with my GTD!)?
-
Thanks again MH. I'm going to keep an eye on those, just as a little bit of something to pass a bit of time
-
Right, mine finally went to "10 days", so hopefully that means its finally on a boat which will hopefully dock at Grimsby Monday/ Tuesday.
What do you think the possibility is that I can collect next weekend (as my dealer is only 80 miles down the M62 from the docks), or is that a little unrealistic ?

Possible if your dealer can PDI in a day (which seems to depend very much on the dealer), but unlikely - VW may not move it from the docks for up to a week after arrival, and your dealer isn't close enough to want to go and get it for themselves. Fingers crossed.
-
The schelde Highway has just left Emden for Grimsby - anyone expecting their car to be on that?
-
'Autorunner' has just left Emden for Grimsby - surely you'll be on that one MH?
-
Doubt it MB, I’m pretty sure the Schelde Highway doesn’t go to Tyne after Grimsby, and I don’t think they’d send my car to Grimsby to be shuttled up to Tyne on a carrier lorry, it is still supposed to be coming in to Tyne. City of Rotterdam leaves Emden today for Tyne – hoping to be on that, or perhaps “City of Paris” due from Emden on 6th Sept (but not even on the expected arrivals list for Emden yet – must be due in to Emden soon as these vehicle carriers seem to be at Dockside 36-48 hours loading up).
My dealer must be confident that my car is due very soon. He was on the phone today (first time in almost a month) to tie up some of the financial loose ends (just cleared the finance on the Scirocco, so that’s a start). As far as his systems could see, my GTD was not yet registered as being on a ship. If it got on the City of Rotterdam, then I will be expecting a shipping status change on the tracker overnight.

Yeah, I don't know how it works; whether they just put them on a boat and then get them driven to their destination or whether they hold them back to then put all regional cars on the same boat. Makes sense from their point of view I suppose to hold all regional cars for the same boat. Which is probably why some people see movements quickly while others seem to wait an age with their cars sitting at Emden for a week or so.
I can't seem to find any boats going to Sheerness so that's me f7cked

Hang in there MB, my car has just gone 10 days, so it must have made it onto the "city of Rotterdam" which is supposed to dock at Tyne 6pm tonight. Can't see any reason why I couldn't have mine at the weekend if my dealer makes the same provisions for mine as he did for my dad's (better not be Sunday - can't do Sunday, I have a christening to go to).
Maybe "priority shipping" isn't a myth after all (or maybe the boats have plenty of spots available for the UK now the Sept 1st rush is over).
-
TBH, if my experience is anything to do by, once the car is built, the delivery process shouldn't take too long. Here's mine.
Car Built 21/8/13
Went to "In transit" 22/8/13
Went to "10 days" 1/9/13
Arrived UK 2/9/13
Arrived at Dealer 4/9/13
So from going "into transit" until delivered to the dealer was 13 days (including 4 weekend days). So not too bad overall.

Mine will be:-
Car built (complete) 26/08/13
Went "in Transit" (4 weeks) 27/08/13
Went 3 weeks (ready for a ship) 29/08/13
Went 1 week (on Ship) 03/09/13
Will arive in UK (actual, not tracker) 04/09/13
At Dealer? Depends how quickly dealer wants it to happen - dealer pick-up is definitely a strong possibility, considering locality to dock.
-
Mine's changed to 'its on its next stage to the UK & takes 3 weeks to get to your retailer' - happy days, it's either on a boat or about to go on one!

3 weeks means it has officially been received at Emden and is patiently waiting for its lift on a boat, as soon as it hits 10 days it is on a boat – hopefully less than a week’s wait for that to happen.

Good stuff MH - ill keep my eyes on 'Autorunner' that seems to visit Sheerness then Grimsby along its route from Emden (it's due into Grimsby today so I'm hoping once it returns to the Fatherland it'll get put on that!)
-
This is all great news guys. Looks like quite a few cars are going to be arriving within the next 4 weeks which means more happy owners and loads more reviews
Looking forward to many more of you joining the owners club
-
Mine has changed from 3 weeks to 10 days now so looks like its on a boat. Any ideas which it could be?
MH is yours on a boat now too?

What is your supplying dealership Chris (city/town)?
“10 days” status does mean it is on a ship from Emden to either Sheerness, Grimsby or Tyne is about a day’s voyage. It’ll be here sometime today, the ship will probably spend the best part of a day unloading and then it’ll wait anywhere from 2 days to a week for VW to pick it up at the port and deliver it to your dealership (unless you are getting priority delivery, like I am – viable due to my dealer’s proximity to the port so they can collect it).
Mine is on city of Rotterdam and will be at the Tyne this afternoon.
-
Mine is Stoke so we're reasonably well placed for both tyne and grimsby. Not sure which boat its on or where its comming in to thoigh. Hopefully my dealer will grab it pretty sharpish :)

I'd say Grimsby is more likely, Tyne is generally for Teesside and up (including Scotland). Yours is possibly on the "Isar Highway", on it's way to Grimsby now, expected in this afternoon, or "Schelde Highway", at Emden and loading up now to get to Grimsby tomorrow

Yeah I thought Grimsby would be the more logical port for me but when I checked last night there was no boats listed for Grimsby (or at least what I could see).
Glad we've seen movement though, I had a horrible feeling we would be sat at Emden for a long time!
-
My Mark 6 - ordered from Stafford - went to Grimsby.
-
Shelde Highway is due to arrive at Grimsby from Emden today at 6pm; Autorunner has docked this morning, also from Emden. Hopefully some of you boys will have cars on those boats.
-
So it says 4 weeks on the tracker but sales man said its at Emden awaiting shipping most probably tomorrow/Saturday. Anyone know of any ships leaving Emden over the next couple of days.

Both those two ships I mentioned will be going back to Emden today/tomorrow, to then pick up more cars (so looking at Sat really) - I also hope mine will be on that boat as well as mine's been sitting at Emden for a day or two now. My tracker says 3 weeks now though, and has done for the last day or so.
-
Mine says its now in the uk so i guess it must have been on the autorunner.
-
Today been told my GTD is still awaiting a ship. Went to 'in transit' last Wednesday. Nearly a week sitting around. I'm impatient more than ever.

But are you at 3 weeks yet (you should be by now)? Expect to be on a ship around a week after tracker hits "3 weeks" within the "in transit" tab.

Yeah went to 3 weeks last Thursday.
Last Thurs? I'd hope to see yours on a ship by the end of the week. Some ports are probably busier than others - it all depends on what they're bringing back to the continent on the return leg.
For Tyne Dock, the return leg is taking newly built Nissans (from the Sunderland plant). At times I would expect there to be more availability of space on a ship from Emden to Tyne than on the return leg (assuming Sunderland supply of Nissans for Europe outweighs demand of German cars arriving in UK for the North East/Cumbria/Scotland). Never seems to be more than a week for Tyne bound cars to get onto a ship.
For other docks, if the demand for ship space on the Emden to UK leg far outweighs the demand for space on the return leg for UK produce going to the continent then maybe Sheerness/Grimsby bound cars have to wait a little longer at Emden for their spot?

Presumably with my car dealership being in birmingham it will be coming into Grimsby or sheerness.

No chance, its camped in for the week at Emden. How utterly ridiculous that yours is on a boat and you ordered it only a few weeks ago

 Its weird. Different queues or something? I guess VW must have more stock waiting at the port... or BMW don't use Emden?

Just had a call from my dealership. My car has been at Emden since last thurs. he has been told by vw that car will be allocated shipping asap at some point this week. But he doesn't know when exactly. Vw also went as far as saying it will be delivered on 25 September. One day before the 20 weeks are up.
I take that with a pinch of salt.
-
20 weeks means f4ck all! I'm on 23 weeks now and just being built. will be at least 26 when I get it.
-

Have you had a courtesy car yet from vw.
-
no point really as I'm trading my tiguan in and I've got a fixed trade in.
-
I've been promised the shipping manifesto tomorrow/Friday by VWEO (if it actually makes it onto one of the 7 () boats leaving Emden this week. I'll get the boat names if I can so that anyone sitting dockside can track the boats should they also expect to be on one of them. 14 days (minimum) to even get onto a boat, great work VW

Matchboy, it's all bo11ocks. My car got there on Thursday today VWCS say its got 15 days to get on a ship and will be on the uk by 20/09.
What's the vweo number. I'm gunna call them tomorrow.
-
In 7 days? I smell a VW bs lie
It's 0844 3754625.

So how do you know if your car is on a boat and which boat?
-
So how do you know if your car is on a boat and which boat?
You either get told, or more likely, when the tracker changes to 10 days then you look at the ships that left the day before and guestimate which one yours is on based on your nearest port.

So the tracker actually changes while showing the 'in transit' icon?
-
Yes, 3 stages to In Transit - 4 weeks (means its left the factory), 3 weeks (means its sitting in a car park in Emden) and 10 days (means its physically on the boat).
-
For those Emden car park campers like me, the Schelde Highway left this afternoon for Grimsby - so if you're on it, you should see your tracker move to '10 days' tomorrow.
The Autorunner will be docking sometime in the next few hours into Emden, so expect that to leave tomorrow - this is also a ship VW use.
-
Cheers matchboy. Never know any of that!
I will keep tabs on the tracker then. :-)
I expect it to change around the weekend.
-
Fingers crossed Matchboy! Mine's been sat in Emden for 5 days now.
My dealer is in Cardiff... does anyone know which UK port their deliveries will come from?
-
As I'm sure people are tired of reading my GTD has been there since 05/09 - 8 days today.
Fingers crossed my car is on there.
-
Fingers crossed we're all on a boat now/tomorrow so we can all stop moaning!

I think I will be on the Autorunner tomorrow that goes to Sheerness - the excitement is building again!!!!
-
Forgot to mention I called the Vw Executive office/centre.
Was on hold then got cut off. Called back some snotty basket refused to check. Fobbed me off. He said he would email ground support and come to me tomorrow.
I also forgot to mention he was t best pleased that I had the number. So I said would it help if I made s complaint to one of the directors. I told him I'm a solicitor by trade (by 6 days mind) and if a client of mine has the hump I listen and fix so far as possible. I don't fob them off.
I asked him a logical question to which a silence Was the reply.
I asked if you confirmed my BW in June/ July and the Car was allocated BW 34. All this vw can do but they can't Pre empt completion of the build and secure a shipping space why is that and I also said please don't say delays because you knew from when the factory first closed in the summer that upon reopening you would be facing a 10 day to 2 week delay you could have booked all the cars subject to delays at the point they entered the build process.
Your system is flawed. Was my parting line.
I now look forward to a call. If my car is not on a ship to Grimsby, Tyne or sheerness then I 'advised' that there would be problems, as tomorrow will be the 9th day of sitting at Emden.
He also said he had emailed customer contact about two other people only to be told by the relevant department that they have not been allocated shipping slot yet. Complete and utter tripe.
-
I think I will be on the Autorunner tomorrow that goes to Sheerness - the excitement is building again!!!!
Imhoping for this one too!
And yes, I know sound just like a bird Misterp!
-
The 'African Highway' is due in this evening at Sheerness. This came from Emden so some of you chaps may have been on this boat. Or like me, you probably weren't on this boat!
-
How many boats transport from Emden to UK / Ireland?
How many cars can a boat hold?
Have you seen the place on Google maps!!?? The amount of cars is nuts!!
:-)
-
The Autorunner has just left Emden for Sheerness
You can track it's location in realtime http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/default.aspx?mmsi=255802860¢erx=7.133517¢ery=53.33245&zoom=10&type_color=7 (http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/default.aspx?mmsi=255802860¢erx=7.133517¢ery=53.33245&zoom=10&type_color=7)

Sat waiting for call from dealer, according to him even though we are near to Grimsby it's not forced to be on a ship heading there.
-

Woah. Thats a lot of cars. I haven't found mine yet but I plan to spend the rest of the work day looking for it.
Seems to be some wind turbines too:

How do you find out which Ship your order is on then guys??
-
Just had a call from Dave at vweo who informs me that he had now taken 'ownership' of my 'complaint'.
He said that the car sits at Emden for 15 days before they prioritise for shipping. That does not mean that it is shipped on the 15th day. My car has been sat there from 3rd it's 15 days expire on wed 18 it is at this point that vw will prioritise for shipping until then it just sits there.
He has said that rather than wait until next wed he has asked for it to be prioritised now and put on a ship asap.
So now we find out they leave cars sitting for the 15 when they think o crap it's been here for 15 days lets get it a shipping slot. All rather amature to me. Dave has promised to call me on tues with an updating. That being said he hopes for it to ship before then.

Just had the exact same phone call with the very same David - see my other thread! Hopefully we'll both be on ships Mon/Tues.

I spent a while looking for the "red lot" too before it occurred to me. Actually if you look again near the north of the port there seems to be a batch of red ones. You can see the sides where there are no covers from the angle the photo is taken.
Look just north west of this: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/preview?hl=en#!q=Kanadische+Stra%C3%9Fe+10%2C+26723+Emden%2C+Germany&data=!1m4!1m3!1d1356!2d7.1818522!3d53.3435613!2m1!1e3!4m10!1m9!4m8!1m3!1d66!2d7.1807724!3d53.3444052!3m2!1i1488!2i527!4f35&fid=7

Google Maps satellite images are not updated in real time, but rather they are several months or years old.
My Hertfordshire dealer has informed me that mine is on its way.
Yippee should have it within a couple of weeks.
Me or Mark first?

Matchboy, your gti is on a boat? Is that wishful thinking or have you been told this?
Aside from that call from dave yesterday harping on about priority shipping, nothing from my dealer.
-
Could be some gambling potential here to keep things interesting. Sweepstakes on who's car arrives at the dealership first for people on same build week.

I'm hoping so Craig! Would be nice! If it gets on a transporter Monday, then it'll be delivered Tuesday as I'm not that far away (topside of M25) so could be Weds if I'm lucky....I'm expecting Saturday though in reality. So close now the excitement is building....I wonder if there's a car transporter tracking site I can watch now I'm done with the shipping one?!
-
Sounds like you've caught me up Mark, I'm waiting for confirmation that mine is on a transporter. They still think it will be arriving Thursday. :smug:
Anyone want to place any bets?

Mine was build 34 was built in 35 and completed last wed 03/09. So I'm with you still at Emden. It looks like week 33 cars shipped and we will be at some point over the next day or so. I was prioritised by dave at vweo.

Woohoo! mine changed to 10 days overnight. I'm assuming it's on the Autorunner currently docked in Emden. Hopefully there'll be a a good few of us on there.

10 days usually means its all ready on a boat that's left - you may find its not on the Autorunner but on another boat all ready winging its way to Blighty!

I just had a thought, do deliveries bound for Northern Ireland go on a different route or boat?
Can't imagine that they would unload them onto a transporter and drive across England to get them on a another boat bound for Ireland.

Your mistake is assuming they employ logic!
Interesting question though.

Indeed!
The tracker states the the max distance the cars travel by road is 250 miles, from Sheerness to Holyhead its about 350 miles. So I imagine it either gets a boat from Emden to Belfast / Dublin, or it transfers boats in Sheerness.
Again, logic!
-
Damn you dave you lied. Priority shipping my arse. still showing 3 weeks on the tracker.

It'll be on the Autorunner mate, so the tracker won't change till a day after the boat has left. I think someone else has said that its currently in port so will leave today (if it hasn't all ready).

What about Tyne or Grimbsy to Liverpool or Stranraer or HolyHead is that more than 250 miles?
I think they do land in england and are transported across but dealer would be able to confirm. Think it was mentioned somewhere before.
I don't think they could land in Dublin as there may be customs issues.

Lets hope. I'm now losing the will to live. I'm away from 27 sept for four days so ideally I would like it before then so that I can collect and take with me for my weekend away.
-
I hate to say it but this priority shipping bulls4it is exactly what it is bulls4it. no way some pen pusher in the UK can get your car on a boat any faster IMO.

I agree with this. I was promised "priority" shipping and it took 12 days to get onto a boat  It was blind luck that it got onto a boat on Friday, had nothing to do with VW UK requesting it to do so.

Priority or not - you might end up on the "city of Paris" which is loading as we speak. It should have set sail before midnight, so I would expect a tracker update to "10 days" if yours made it on.
-
just checked and still three weeks so hopefully a change overnight. this last leg is going too well!!!

I wouldn't expect a change until midnight of the day something happened (car getting on a ship) - doesn't seem to happen in real time.

This was a text I got from the dealer on 09 sept 'Hi, I have checked on your Golf GTD today and it is due to board the ship any day now. I will check the progress daily and update you. Regards, Mat @ VW'
This is the text I received today 'Hi, I have just checked on your new car and it says it is due to board the ship anytime now. I will check daily and update you with progress. Regards, Mat'
Not much difference give or take a few words. Not impressed. Due to speak to dave tomorrow.
-
Sounds like Mat has short term memory.
-
My GTD is on a ship tracker updated to 10 days at some point after 4.30 am. So on to ship tracking
Probably on the auto runner which is now in sheerness it Thames highway which is due into Grimsby this afternoon

I'm a Build week 34 which went over into BW 35. From reading on here it looks like BW33s were shipped last week and 34 this week.
so with any luck you will ship end of this week early next week.

You'd think so. One thing I've realised is vw do not operate on common sense.

defo not work backwards if u ask me hope to see sum nice pictures of urs soon then Misterp

The dealer just confirmed that deliveries for Northern Ireland have a different route.
They ship from Emden to Grimsby, then on the road to Liverpool! From there it's across the water to Belfast! That is about 160 miles on land and under the max 250 miles that VW claim on the tracker.
So anybody know what ship does the Emden to Grimbsy run?
-
my tracker now says 10 days changed over night anyone know how i track down the shipping what my car is on?
-

Not sure Lambo. My car should be going from Grimsby to Liverpool before the trip to Belfast, but the tracker still says 3 weeks.
No idea which boat does that run.

I was quoted BW 36? So that might fit in nicely depending on how they ship from Grimbsy.

I was build week 34 and they left the car at sheerness for a full 7 days before moving it on to birmingham.

It seems the EMS HIGHWAY left Emden today on it's way to Grimsby. Could be our cars on that boat! ;-)

It seems the EMS HIGHWAY left Emden today on it's way to Grimsby. Could be our cars on that boat! ;-)
i rang my dealer 2day and it seems that my car (GTD) has arrived in the uk. He said that it arrived this morning and i should have my car by next wednesday  im excited now but not getting my hopes up to much coz after all its VW ha.

Nice one Lambo.
I am hoping my tracker is incorrect and mine is already in the UK!
I don't understand why it takes from today to next Wednesday though to get yours though? 9 days? Really?

From personal experience mine will be the 8 th day from arriving in the Uk to being delivered to Birmingham And I'm collecting on the 9th day. I don't know what it is but why prioritise getting some cars here then just to have them wait port side in the UK. Bonkers.

yeh i agree proper joke. So is your car due in tomorrow at the dealers Misterp? Think my dealer will be getting another call tomorrow for a push for the weekend.
-
I spoke to the dealer at 9.00 this morning he confirmed that they will receive by midday tomorrow and that I could collect at 5.00 the following day. I was told last week by vweo that I can collect by Wednesday. It will save them money as from 26 sept I am due a courtesy car.

My tracker changed to 10 days this morning!
I also seen 3 GTD or GTIs this morning on a transporter on it's way to Belfast. (2 x 5 door and a 3 door)
Never got a chance to see what the others were, but there were other black Golfs.

Hi, my tracker also changed to 10 days this morning.
Hoping my car is on the City of Sunderland which is due in Tyne at 1530 today.
I am bw 36 in case any of you are wondering.
-
I just can't understand how I am still at 3 weeks on a build week 33 if you are at 10 days on a 36. I'm pissed off!

You need to call the VW EO mate as I was BW33 and mine wasn't built till BW35 and I've got mine - you should have had yours by now. Speak to David Townend, he sorted me out.

I was build week 36. But the tracker is all over the place. Not to be taken as fact. Ring your dealer. I had my dealer tortured!

It's the Volkswagen Executive Office - they're the next step up from the VW Customer Services ie. they deal with complaints!
-
Just spoken to customer services and they confirmed that the information that my dealer gave me was incorrect.
My car arrived in Emden on the 11th September but has yet to be loaded on to a ship and therefore I should not expect to receive it for at least another 2-3 weeks.
Wish I had not made the call now, I was already in a bad mood. I think I must be one of the most delayed people here - I feel like a total wayne kerr.

Mate as matchboy said call vweo I did and I can't guarantee it but things moved relatively quicker after my call.
-
Autorunner arrived in Sheerness today at lunchtime. Wonder if any of our cars are on that?
-
Ok, so this may be a bit of a selfish post, but as my GTD went to 'In transit' yesterday, I have a new found sudden interest in the ship tracking website previously posted. I looked at it then (about 4 weeks ago) & being honest I had no idea how to find out which ships were going where & leaving when!!
Am sure quite a few of you on here have been through this process so can anyone help me out?
I live in Hamilton Scotland, but ordered my car through my works car leasing scheme with Lex. The dealership they nominated to buy the car on my behalf was 'Listers' of Worcester. So I've really no idea where ther ship would dock either?? Would it be Hull or Southampton???
Even looking at the ship tracking map just looks like the start of Dad's Army to me!
Any help would be greatly received

Autoprestige has left Emden today bound for Sheerness and Weser Highway has also left today, bound for Grimsby. Not sure where a Worcester bound car would land, but I'm hoping (probably in vain) that mine might be on the Grimsby bound ship. It doesn't seem to have been on the other two Grimsby bound ships in the last few days.
In terms of working out how to use www.marinetraffic.com, you need to click ports at the top, then search for Emden, then you can see vessels in port, those arriving, those departing etc and then click on the ships. Its a case of experimenting and getting to know it really and knowing which ships to look for. Some of the "usual" candidates have "Highway" as their second name, and some start with "Auto". Hope that helps.
-
You can also searh for specific ships such as Autorunner, Autoprestige, Schelde Highway, Neckar Highway, Weser Highway (in Emden now) - there are others but I can't remember them now. I think one has the word Esperanza in the title.
-
Doug, Alleycat........thanks very much.
I'll experiment with the website & see what i can find out.
As mine only went in to 'in transit' yesterday i would think it's still on the train to Emden with plenty of other cars in front of it in the queue. Am not fussed have waited long enough and am now down to a month or so, so I'm happy. Thanks for your help.
btw alleycat, i used to live in york (for 34 yrs) where abouts are you?
-
We are just south of the city, near Fulford.
The tracker has changed to 10 days overnight so I guess it did get on board Weser Highway yesterday

Mine changed overnight as well, from 4 weeks to 3 weeks.
Does that mean that it has now arrived in Emden?
We used to live in Huntington
-
Yes that should mean it is booked in and waiting for a ship at Emden. Welcome to the period of now waiting until it changes to 10 days !
-
At long last mine changed from 3 weeks to 10 days overnight :nerd: Which ship should i be looking at do you think, hopefully not the titanic's relative

-
Now arrived at the dealers.   only problem, transfer of cherished number plate takes time. Counting down the days.
-
OK so speculation here, my car is waiting to be shipped (BW43 but actually BW45) and since I'm in the south I should be on a Sheerness bound ship.
African Highway arrived back in Emden this morning having completed its previous Emden > Sheerness > Santander > Emden trip.
I'm hoping this ship will depart on Tuesday bound for Sheerness again (assuming it arrives the same day each fortnight) does anyone have any input on the frequency of shipping to Sheerness?
-
For anyone interested
Weser Highway and Schedule Highway have both just got to Grimsby
