Explain how it's a bad move.

Lest we forget I spent some considerable time discussing and even loaning tools for Andres to tweak up his Golf2.

What did he do then?

Go off and buy a tugboat, with a boat anchor under the bonnet, the little toad.

Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Holiday cottages on the Isle of Wight for 2-10 people? PM me.

Wayne thinks its a bad idea, that's just his opinion.

ABF makes more sense for a student on a tight budget with an ailing engine, no?

So he's not listen and doing what DH says over what you are saying, he's doing what makes sense for him.

as you said Jay, ABF is excellent for someone on the same budget as me, and as you also said, I'm doing what makes more sense for me, not what DH is saying although what he is saying is what makes sense. It just happens to be a coincidence.

It's true that DH did spend many many hours on msn trying to convince me to stick an ABF in the golf2, but I never did and ended up buying a golf3. I now have the chance to make a good golf3 and one desirable to DH (Golf3 16v).

You'll have fun fitting and running the abf engine. If you can get it done for £500 then it'll be cheaper than buying and sorting out problems on a new to you 16v car.

Make sure DH and Danny dont change your Mk3 shell for a MK2 one while there at it

hectic day! Carried out compression test (just about to post figures in mk3 section) and decided to clean out all the oil in the cylinders by giving the car a drive round the block (street was covered in blue smoke )
Ended up waiting an hour for the RAC

The HT leads I bought the other day are so so sh!t!

Water got into them and stopped car from starting up.

Once the RAC man got it going he noticed the plug end of the HT lead which is a long metal piece, was arching on the cylinder block! Crap quality leads

So stuck my old ones for now as they are an all rubber design. Maybe the arching explains why since I fitted them in the top end of the rev range I used to get slight flatspots   :undecided:
