MK2 FTW !

Only reason I'd get a MK3 and that's for a VR6

Im on about driving to the limit everywhere not just in a straight line. The mk3 is a stable and good handling car, but the mk2 is just better. Anyway the mk2 will be ABF'd, so it will have good power to weight ratio  :smug:

My mk3 handles a lot better than my mk2. Its all about the suspension, and I have £400 coilovers which are a lot better than the free shocks + springs I had on my mk2 :)

The mk2 had hottuning coilies, but the mk3 has new top mounts ball joints and polybushed wishbones. Mk2 stillhandled far better, the weight plays a huge part in it. Mk2 all the way dude.

But if the mk3 is standard suspension you can't compare.

Only way to do a true comparison is drive both on standard suspension OR both on coilovers. Try throwing a standard suspension mk2 around  will be the same as the mk3.

I was running about in the standard suspension on the mk2, also bear in mind the 1.6 doesnt have ARBs like the gti, and even then it handled better than the mk3.
I should hopefully be getting coilies end up august, same coilies i had on the mk2 (hottuning) so that way i can really compare evenly.
Mk3 atm aint on standard suspension anyway, got lowering springs.
