ABF Lump

Whats the going rate for an ABF lump, just picked a full engine with all bits bolted to it but no loom. Paid £70 for it.
Gonna strip and rebuild it, head work and then run it on weber 45's.
Does any one know if the kr ecu will be ok to get my spark from?

really need mapable ignition with knock sensors.
never been inpressed with abf's on webbers they make about 170 - 175. but low throttel / rpm driveing isn't to nice and they are bloody thirsty. if you used bike carbs things would be a bit diffrent 40mm bike carbs will give more power and better part throttel driveing

So a set of bike carbs with a 40mm choke would be a better bet then. I presume i can make a inlet manifold from the old intake with out any major problems

You'll need to get a 'stub manifold' made up to take the inlet spacing from the 16V to the bike carbs, as this is almost inevitably going to be different. You *may* like to make a support bracket to go underneath the carbs which will hold them securely in place and ensure they work properly.

Yeah seen bogg bros stuff before but aint upto paying there prices for a inlet manifold, have been told that i can cut a standard inlet and run off that with a bit or work for bike carbs, i'm not bothered about it being pretty, its only a track car.

£125 for a manifold
not expensave
from what i learned racing sidecar's is if you cut corners with cost's and stuff it will bite you in the ass with break down's
