ok now i am convinced there is something hot and cutting out

i started the car this morning and it is 0 degrees out side , started really well , warmed up to oil temp 54 then started spluttering coughing

i think something like the coil is cutting out , cooling down and working again

is this something any one else has had ??

thanks again Phil

HI
Does the coil get hot ?
Tighten all the spade connectors on the coil terminals.

ok i looked at the lambda probe and the wires on the connector, one was out of the connector , plugged it back in but not fixed !!!

so maybe the lambda is broken

it's rare but the TCI can play up   normaly when the heatsink has corroded behind it. there cheep enough  to replace to see if it has any effect.

dose the car cut dead or struggel and chough then give up ?
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

TCI ????

cough's splutters and gives up after 30 second's but restart's perfectly

have been told the lambda heater stay's on for 30 sec's then the probe takes over measuring the co level , so i was pointed in the lamdba probe direction

ok  not that then

unplug the lambda and see what happens.  if it ain't there at all it should run fine   just uses default map setting like a normal digi 2 car
all the VW's have gone bar 1.
