Right, I've just been to their site. I think the line, 'you get what you pay for' comes to mind. As Topher says, they claim the same increase in bhp for both the Golf GTI and Edition 30, but there are other things that really got me thinking, these people are playing fast and loose...
1. No attention to detail on their website... they've got a pic of the Golf W12 Concept car from last year with the caption 'Golf GTI' where they claim to increase the GTI's power from 140bhp to 185bhp???! WTF

and another where they seem to think that the a picture of a silver Golf GTI with a clear front shot showing the grill saying GTI - the caption however says Golf GT

OK, I thought maybe they have communication problem with the web designers and maybe the product is ok... so I went to have a look at their claims for the R32.
2. They seem to think the Mk5 R32 produces 241bhp?! Its the Mk4 that has 241bhp - the Mk5 has a factory output of 250bhp. By now I'm thinking that these guys are talking out of their backsides because they claim that their chip gives the R32 261bhp - an increase of 20bhp on a NA car? I don't think so. I have read countless posts and spoken to Revo and a remap can only produce VERY limited bhp increases. You might be able to get 10-15bhp if you combine a remap with bolt-on mods, but then its debatable as to what is actually giving that increase in power. But 20 bhp with a remap? I bet they believe in Santa and the Christmas Fairy too.
3. The final warning sign for me was that they either offer to post you this chip - a big no-no and one of the reasons why TT doesn't like Superchips and their Bluefin product (amongst many others and I have to say, I think he is right about them) or some 'engineer' comes round and fits it for you - without a RR and proper diagnostics like checking your car FIRST before the remap to highlight any possible issues and then tweaking the settings to obtain an optimal setting for your car.
Conclusion: I would strongly advise your friend to stay away. Heck, if he doesn't want to spend too much, get the Superchips Bluefin from JKM - they have a special offer on at the moment and I think its a sub £300 price. Although I wouldn't use them, I would take them over Hypercr8p anyday.
Where's TT anyone
