motorway problem!!! ---- FIXED!!!!!!!!

Right. Got a new fuel pump, and not sorted the problem
So i had an extremly close look, and infact, the carb mounting flange has a split in it, so that HAS to be the problem.
I NEED the car this week especially as my grandparents are here from spain and they want me to drive them to places ect and need to drive another 300 miles on monday to take them to the airport.
So does anyone please know where i can get a weber 32/34 DMTL carb mounting flange? not the gasket or anything, the thick rubber mount that goes in between the carb and inlet manifold. does GSF or ECP sell this? as i need it ASAP, but if you know of a website that sells it and postage is pretty quick please let me know. This is URGENT!!!

Ghetto Stylie it with electrical tape for now to seal the crack.

Install Skype on your PC and call Webcon (assuming you have a set of speakers and mic) to see if they have any.

i think the one he posted from avs car parts earlier in the thread fits a weber. Will also give them a call tomorrow and hopefully put an order in either one of the companies. electrical tape tip is good jay, will try and do my best tomorrow morning. cheers.

Let us know how you get on with the electrical tape, i think it should seal it just enough, even if you only use it to diagnose the problem even further. If the rubber sandwich plate thingy is expensive I'd also look at using a silicon based sealant/glue stuff, I know someone who used it on his flying saucer on his digi

yeah i did think of getting silicon gun out and sealing it, but was also scared maybe it got sucked into the carb and then into the engine and making a big mess. AVS car parts wants £30 including postage for the rubber sandwhich.

just thinking. Can i try it? or would you not recommend it? Put a tad on my finger and do my best to seal it, or would it definitly get sucked in? dont think it would as the crack is fairly small, but always best to ask.

oh you reckon, the old MkIIs a tempremental thing, it will know you have just bought a MK3 BarGti it will give you nothing but hassle from now til January
