Sunroof help required please....

Thinking of buying a Mk2 Scirocco tilt slide sunroof, as it's a direct fit. Has anyone done this conversion? Will my original outer sunroof panal fit the Scirocco mech? Any help appreciated.

no you need to use all the rocco bits, the metal outer panel is totally different.  They sometimes drop right in easy, sometimes they fight you!  main thing to note is there should be a plastic pin on the end of both rails which locates in a round hole right inside the roof.  gotta get it in or the roof will jam up!

a few of the other random parts are the same, for example the wind deflector and parts of the rails at the front.  you'll need to retrim the interior panel too, try to find a scrap headlining to cut up
