Take all the trim off around the steering column, disconnect the airbag sensors and unscrew the two allen screws on the back of the wheel to release the airbag (Store it safe & don't drop it).
You will then have access to the steering wheel centre nut, so undo this and get the wheel off. 1) you make need a puller for this - leave the nut still on the shaft so the wheel doesn't suddenly come off and hit you in the face.
You should now have easy access to remove the lock barrel - it really quite simple.
