im currently looking into an R32, maybe not as fast but still a very decent car at a stupidly cheap price.

how much would need to be spent to get 300bhp from one?

look at Rupo's results and his list of mods. I'm sure 300bhp is possible with N/A tuning but it would probably have to include higher compression pistons and a rev limit of 7200rpm

The car I've been offered is 56 plate, 3 door, silver, full leather, DSG, 15,000 miles, 6 cd changer for £14,995.

Now if it was 5 door it would deffo be mine but going up tonight with the kids to see how practical it will be having a 3 door!

I hope its ok as I want it!
2008 R32 DBP gone. 2008 GT TDI going 2009 GTI coming soon!

Yeah, he did. But then put a milltek on and lost 10bhp

Discrepancies of +-10bhp on a dyno are largely irrelevant unless you're taking the readings on the same day.

look at rupos results and that is about all you get NA from that engine as i was going down the same path but for the £££ it was not worth it  so it has to be a charger or a turbo  so what you need is £20k and buy a mk4/5 and do the charger or turbo

i have a 3 door, its a bit of a pain really with kids, they struggle to get in the back, then you need to get someone to shut the door...perhaps its just me being lazy but i cant be arsed getting out and walking round the car to shut the door behind them...i mean snot like they are a new girlfriend or anything ...

looks great in 3 doors though.  sounds an ok deal mate...though there were reports of 07's for that kind of money around, also 08's at under 17k....

check out  http://www.freecarvaluations.co.uk/

and stick in the reg plate and the mileage....see what you get and how far off your stealer is
