You have a fair point - who does it go against if nobody was in the car? e.g. 3rd party bumper you car, accepted liability and you got the car repaired with their insurance paying - no different in my mind than you having a bump yourself and paying for it yourself

I told my wife's insurance when someone bumped hers, the 3rd party sorted the repair and my insurance have never asked anymore about it, they just made a not on the policy when I originally called to tell them.  How would i know how much it cost etc..?

Anyway, slightly going off  - just call Greenlight your quote will probably be around £470

Same happened to me, with Admiral.. they send you a form to fill in and send back. Then that's the end of it. My premium wasn't increased because of it. They're yanking your chain Cocopops!

Gonna give Competition Car Insurance a buzz.

I'll try Greenlight... anyone got a number handy?

Anyone else recommended for modded cars?

Also my current claim is going through an accident management place so I currently have a 57 plate GTI on hire - which of course will go on the claim and increase the cost, a week so far which I expect wont be that cheap - did feel a bit cheeky but hey I need a car and the offer like for like - getting all my long journeys out the way ;)

Greenlight 01277 263 030 , Neil is a decent guy to speak to but anyone will help.

You still have to declare it as a claim, even if not a claim on your own policy.

Not declaring it would be fraudulent.

I had this when becoming a named driver on me daughters car.

THEY told me about it

but it varies from company to company

best of all, i was in bed when the neighbour crashed into me car  i didnt even tell my insurance, but they know about come renewal

Hmm, having said that...
Greenlight have just emailed @ £572! (I filled in the online quote form detailing mods etc). Might have to call them!

I went with Admiral again this time, 26, 1 years no claims, £1020, I lost my (3 years) no claims when some b****** cut me up on a roundabout. Needed a new wing and wheel , and between Admiral and the other company they took 18 months to settle the claim, they're all in it together i tells ya....
