Would you be able to tell you had a boost leak from the VAG-COM? I'm thinking of getting one and it would be another reason to go ahead if I could check fault codes for things like this, as I have spent time and money getting my car into in current state of tune and don't want it slowly loosing power through soemthing like this.

....Someone who knows about VAG-COM will be able to answer this.

In my case all the info came up during the Dyno-Dynamics runs as columns of data in numerical value format. In knowing what values should have logged, JKM's Keith was able to see that certain values weren't being achieved and consequently the most likely cause would be a boost leak.

Btw, I was in Cardiff last week - Lovely city and environment! I hadn't been there before. My daughter is now very keen on going there to study. :afro:

JKM is where I had my mods done by Keith also, he did run through the tech explanation at the time with data shown on his lap top.

Btw, yes Cardiff is a nice place, a place big not to big and not too small for my liking.

Cardiff rules

with VAG COM you can measure the Actual intake pressure against specified which i believe is what you need  :undecided:

I don't know if this helps, but the boost pipes are exactly the same design as used on my old 150PD MKIV. Push on pipe with an O ring, 2 ears and a U shaped clip that secures them. They're nice and tight when you check them, but as you push boost through, they "pull" away from the female end, bending the clip and let boost escape.

Might be worth a look?

One of the most obvious indications of a boost leak is the N75 duty cycle, if yours it's up in the 90's then your turbo is working very hard and it might lead you to think you have a leak.
