How much power?!

Hi all,

Im after a few guestimates on how much power i am likely to get from new engine?!

Im currently building a 2ltr 8v (PB head) for my mk2,
This weekend i have been porting and polishing the head, not quite finished yet, but getting there!










All ports have been matched to manifolds and gaskets,




The throttle body will be flowed and polished too, also i am running a Piper 276 cam and i will be fitting a new set of injectors.

Any ideas what i can expect from this?!

I have a 2.0 with pb head which is ported and polished and ive got more torque than anything.  But as nick said with the cam an manny you should see about 150. :wink:

Well dubslug off here has the same spec as you but with a Polished and Ported head he bought from a proper tuner and that pulled about 155bhp.

p.s How restrictive are the original rear exhaust silencers?! to go with the new manny i plan to make a new centre section out of 65mm tube, replacing the centre box. Would i gain much more by replacing the rear boxes? I really dont want it too loud though........

With that manifold you need as many boxes as you can fit!:grin:  Your better off getting some kind of system so that it retains flow but keeps the noise down. I had a pipe replacing the first silencer and it was really loud, i fell out with the neighbours over it! Oh and get it done!

03 210 Seat LCR. Badger5 V2.2TIP, Fordge 007p, Wellycooler, Quaife ATB LSD, Nuespeed ARB's, KW Clubsports, 330mm discs, 3" turbo back de cat and still on the standard map!
