Why do you want one as it does nothing for performance?
Without traction power is nothing!

Do you want a recirculating valve, or a normal atmospheric one?

Atmospheric creates noise
Recirculating does not create as much noise.

IIRC Atmospheric valves are not particularly good for the 2.0T engine??? Someone confirm? Although from the link below Forge do offer atmospheric blow off valves.

I'm not after it for a performance result, but I have heard good and bad things about what they can do!
Basically I'm undecided, I don't want to damage my engine or void my warranty but someone told me they prolonge the life of the turbo? (if you haven't noticed I'm a complete novice as this is my first turbo car). I'm just after a discreet one, not a real chavy whhssssss.

I had a Forge one on my Pulsar GTI-R (many years ago) as the raised boost caused my standard one to split.  The forge one I had was vent-to-atmosphere, but didn't make a loud "tish" noise...more a subtle fluttering sound.

On my Skyline GTR I never needed to change the standard re-cric blow-off valves and these were hardly audible from outside the car.  Inside, the only time you heard them was on turbo shuffle on part throttle.

Personally, I wouldn't change it on the GTI unless you were either raising the boost (and therefore the stock one (from what I've read) my not be up to it) OR because the stock one has become damaged.

There are clearly far more knowledgeable people on this forum than me, I'm just going off my many years experience of turbo car ownership (both of which were very modified).

Quote off Forge site:-

"Our alternative is a fully engineered solution offering both significantly improved reliability as well as valve related boost response."

For £155 it doesn't do too much, but it does give you peace of mind.

i thought having the spacer for sound was a bad idea? the air should be recurculated not vented?
