I thought this worth mentioning,

Having got the rear badge from both Markymarks and mine in my grubby mitt's I can tell you they are different 

Basically there are a lot more prongs on the back of Marks than mine and as such it would not fit onto my handle as there are not enough hole's on it.

If someone were to get someone else's returned it may not fit 

Any suggestions Robin?

Are the part numbers at the rear of both emblems the same?

No, the one off my Edition30 is 3C5 827 469

And the one from an 06 GTI is 1K0 853 630

Yup, my 06 GTi also has that 1K0 853 630 part number.

I wonder how the TTShop is going to handle this.

btw any chance of a side by side pic to show the differences?

Maybe the TT Shop would be kind enough to mark the backs of them with a marker pen, as and when they recieve them, so they know whos is whos when they return them to us? I for one didn't know VW produced different ones and haven't marked mine!  :s

Yes, TTshop need to be informed which belongs to who.

Some time later..........These carbon badges are really nice but which one belongs to Noddy and which one to Big Ears?

My rear badge has a prt number of 1K0 853 630 too.

The stock badges (cores) you are being sent have differences and so each badge you receive needs marking so the same carbon covered one returns to its owner. Otherwise the final product the customer receives from you may not fit back on his car.
