may part numbers are for the actual gasket ;)
inlet part numbers could be anything, as they changed many times thruout the 16v development cycle.  many part numbers are unknown now too!

clutch is matched to the gearbox you're using, 9a one will be a hydro clutch so totally different.  I assume you're using the old box right, in that case you want a 210mm GTI 8v clutch, and matching flywheel.  If your GTI is an early one it might have a 200mm clutch in which case I dont think the fly is any good?  To be on the safe side any MK2 GTI 8v or 16v fly will do the job lovely.

do you know if it was a 210mm clutch, if so all your old gear will fit, you just need 6 new pressure plate bolts as they're use once.  Actually done a quick check and all MK1 1.8 GTIs had a 210mm clutch, so if its a 1.8 you'll be reet :)
If its a 210 your old flywheel will be fine.  just a case of checking the BTDC timing mark is set to 6 degrees, afaik it should be if again its a 1.8. Like zis:

Would it be better to use kr cams and head than the 9a ones?

Yes you deffo want the KR stuff on there, the 9A stuff is tepid due to the emissions regs when it was built.

no need to swap the head though, they're near enough the same.  though if you get a flowed head then its worth it.
