I am about to renew my insurance and it is basically way too high for the car (£2200 if i want to pay monthly is the best quote!!)
I have run a quote on an ED30 and it comes up at £1100 (not bad for 22yrs old and 0 no claims due to some scum stealing my headunit!)
So my dillema is this:
I can afford to get the ED30 as i bought mine outright and so after selling it and splitting mods should be left with around £11k. This means a fair bit of money to put down on the car and then pay it off monthly. My worry is though im moving to london (finsbury park) and the rent is £920 inc council tax (so £460 as im going with my girlfriend) I will also be looking for a job so wont have one for a short while.
Now i can obviously afford it now, i may struggle down the line (but im clever and should do well lol) im also worried as if i pay for the insurance for this can i just swap it over, they lower it for the car and i dont lose out? I want to start rebuilding my NCB ASAP!
I know the majority of you will just say ''go for it'' and i am tempted but some things seem to good to be true and im worried i may be blinded by something i should consider due to the fact i really want it!
I also would quite like the MK6 although i think the market should have started to equal out and so the price will put on with a similar engine to the ED30 quite high!
Hopefully some of you can offer me some level sided advise, i apreciate its a golf forum so you want me to get it but im worried theres something i cant see!
Thanks
