5000rev limit

I just took my car to my stepdads garage and hooked it up to the computer a fault called 'hall transducer' once cleared it rev fine but comes on again once turned of and started up again. anybody know what hall transducer is.

its the hall sender on the side of the dizzy....check the wiring too as with age these can crack!

i have this problem since i bought new dizzy! is there anything else it could b as im fed up of hittin 5k and havin 2change otherwise it feels lik i have my breaks on.

If it was ok before and happens now...check all the wires that run to the sender! and if they are fine, check the dizzy and the timing (as the dizzy could be 180 degree out? or the belt is out by 1 tooth?)

oh i will check that in a min. no its not out a tooth bit will probs make sure 2m but i had it 180 out wen i was playing with it in cheltenham and the only thing it did was fill the engine with fuel and had no spark as was outa time an popped a massive flame lol plus garage re timed the dizzy for me. anychance could it be the rotary arm as the vw is dif to the 1 i got from halfords?

It's very unlikely to the rotor arm but check you have the correct one fitted (black cap or brown cap with black cover!!)

Boneybradley, is it possible that it could be the camshaft sensor with regards to 'hall transducter fault' as you said it was the dizzy hall sensor, just after your opinion as im going to have to do something about it very soon!
