Clutch pedal!
« on: 06 October 2008, 18:51 »
Is it just me or does anyone else's clutch pedal sit rather high? ( thus makes me drive it a bit more like an auto/Dsg, with my foot on the rest pad!)

Erm - you arn't actually meant to rest your foot on the clutch pedal.  Which is exactly why a foot rest is provided!

For what its worth, every three pedal Golf 5 I have ever driven, and the clutch has always been the same height as the brake pedal.

Yeah I find the whole pedal set-up on the Golf pretty horrible. All pedals are positioned too high up for my liking. But then again, I am used to race cars, BMW's and Lotus', which have near-on perfect pedal positions. So I just kind of took it at face value as the Golf isn't as focused as those other cars.

I've never had any issues with the clutch position. Maybe it's a bad fitting or something?

…was just thinking the same today. Have just fitted the Forge short shift kit and I am very impressed with it, but now the weak link is the clutch pedal, seems very high with long travel, is it possible to adjust pedal/bite point for a quicker disengage/engage? (TT?)

I only rest my foot when doing a lot of town driving, but not so it burns the clutch out. (not use to the footrest coming from Saxo's!)
I know its suposed to be the same height as the brake pedal but sits a tiny bit higher. Hope theres some adjustment in there with out taking too much up on the clearance?. But then if its a hydraulic clutch it can't be adjusted can it?
