the valver springs to life...
« on: 24 September 2008, 19:08 »
Well it shows signs of life at least.

the engine will not start, which could be down to many many things but i have turned it over and it doesnt splutter or anything so i dont know if its even got the fuel setup right but before i investigate random ideas... lets see if any one can help me with the initial error codes.

00519 P0106 MAP Sensor - Out of Range -G71

00515 Camshaft Position Sensor (Hall Effect Sensor) - Short to B+
(G40) : Check CMP, if OK, replace distributor

00532 P1750 Supply Voltage (B+)
            Signal to high

Now these could have been saved on the ECU from ages ago?  but its been without power for a few months so mabey not.   anyway could any of those stop it from starting,  and what do they mean?  It doesnt fire what so ever.. just turns over.

00519 Check the vacuum line from the manifold to the ecu

00532 refers to the voltage to the ecu, have you got the ecu bolted on and earthed?

 I have not connect the vac line

And yes its all earthed ok as far as i know,  i will double check its all clean and earthed, if not any other things i should check?

Would that be to do with why its not firing at all ?

Also im not sure if my fuel lines are actualy connected correctly.   I have two black pipes to the fuel rail one with a blue out arrow and one with a white in arrow,  i fitted the blue arrow to the blue feed pipe and white to the black pipe... any idea if thats correct?  random guess.   i was gunna sort all the errors and if that still didnt work i will swap them and try.

Some more info found below. Sounds like you might have a bad connection or bad earth. Well worth checking your ecu connections and your main battery earth and engine to chassis earth.

00532 - Supply Voltage B+: Signal too Low
Possible Causes
Wiring/Connectors from/to Control Module faulty
Power Supply (Battery/Generator) faulty
Possible Solutions
Check/Repair Wiring/Connectors from/to Control Module
Check Power Supply (Battery/Generator)
Special Notes
When found in an individual control module, it's most likely a local source (e.g. wiring/connectors).
When found in multiple control modules at the same time, it's most likely a common source (e.g. ground spot, battery, generator).
Intermittent codes are often stored during low outside temperature when the battery capacity goes down and may be ignored.
Common with 16946/P0562/001378 - System Voltage: Too Low stored in other control modules.

00515 - Camshaft Position (Hall) Sensor (G40): Open or Short to Plus
Possible Causes
Wiring to Camshaft Position (Hall) Sensor (G40) faulty
Camshaft Position (Hall) Sensor (G40) Installation faulty
Camshaft Timing Out of Specification
Camshaft Position (Hall) Sensor (G40) faulty
Possible Solutions
Check Wiring to Camshaft Position (Hall) Sensor (G40)
Check/Replace Camshaft Position (Hall) Sensor (G40)
Check Camshaft Timing
Check/Replace Engine Control Module

Fuel feed is the bottom connection on the fuel rail, the return line is the top one, not sure of the colours.

Connect up the vac line. Check the earths and the ecu wiring connection, make sure the ecu is bolted tight.
