Section 59......
« on: 20 September 2008, 00:00 »
anyone had one of these yet ?

i was driving along a road near my house and there was a woman in front swerving all over the place and going about 15mph. i noticed a van behind me and waited until the next street light to shine over it to see what it was. couldnt see anything though. i just had a bad feeling but this woman was doing my head in. so on the next available straight, while no cars were coming the other way, i did her. but just before i overtook her there was something saying in my head dont do it, your nearly home but this little rush came over me so i did it. so the van followed me by overtaking her. the next thing blue flashing lights. i sh!t it as i got my 6 points off my licence this summer. pulled me over said i was lucky that they werent the traffic police because they would of thrown the book at me but because they werent, they give me this notice which is just a warning but it stays on record for 12 months so if i do it again my car will impounded. i was so relived. no fine, no points. i know i wont be doing that again lol

The warning is issued under S.59 of the Police Reform Act 2002.  The legislation came in to deal specifically with "anti social" use of a motor vehicle.  I have heard of people being reported for playing their stereo's too loud and even having an exhaust noise that was deemed to be excessive.  Basically if you are caught driving / acting in whats deemed to be an anti social manner in another vehicle or if any person is caught driving your vehicle in an anti social manner the vehicle will be impounded.

Not great ...

im just glad that i didnt get any points to be honest. just thought i should let people know that this section will do you for anything now like garethmk1 said.
