load of old rubbish. more likely a Digifant not timed correctly. Never had a problem myself.

... it's turned into a fashion show for poofters.

Ive just fixed this lag. Its like a turbo lag. Plant your foot to the floor and you get a delay in power.
Its a timing and air/fuel mixture problem. Dont buy those chips. I think they are only good if your ECU has blown and can use those as a repair

check Rubjonnys digifant tuning guide in the maintainance section.

cheap chips = poo

they mess up your engine and dont really give much power.

Must check to see if mine has this problem!
I always thought it meant that literally nothing happened, like you hadn't pressed the throttle, not like a turbo lag kinda thing
cos if I plant the throttle in lowish revs in second, it only really begins to shift a bit higher up the rev range, just like turbo lag  :undecided:
I thought it was just getting into the torque band

Still need to get the timing done  :lipsrsealed:

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

Them chips give BIG flatspots, I tried one out then swapped it back to the old one as it was a lot better.

Digi lag is not the same as turbo lag. The car doesn't come into the powerband until you hit over 2750rpm anyway.

Digilag is the hesitant-ness you get for a second or so from when you press the throttle to the car actually responding. this can be cured without chips and the like by slightly adjusting the AFM carefully. Esentially you need to remove the cover off the AFM so you see the clockwork internals, clean them up with electrical contact cleaner first (if there are heavy tracks on it you might wish to replace it as this will be part of the problem ) if you carefully undo the little bolt whilst locking the mechanism in place you can then adjust the main cog clockwise by no more than 2-3 clicks. If you adjust it to much or dont have it locked when you undo it, it will unwind completely and it'll be buggered. I'd suggest using a spare one to do this to and then fit it. That way if you've done it wrong or mess it up, you can just refit your original one.

I asked about doing the same method on here a while ago.
Doing that to the AFM effectively is fooling the ecu into thinking that there is more air coming into the engine than there actually is, and therefore the ecu increases the fuelling to compensate which is effectively what those ecu chips do- increase fuelling.
Thats why, despite having a spare AFM, I never went ahead with it, in the belief that setting the car up properly would sort the problems :)
