^^^ I though they had stopped production on the R32??

Possibly... They were going through a list so might have been a stock list.

Depends what your circumstances are... for example I would've gone for a GTI if I did a lot of inner city driving. Resale of ALL cars is pathetic at the moment so that shouldn't be a major issue. Fuel-wise they aren't as bad as people think, 29/30mpg on the motorway is easy (although the DSG models don't seem to be quite as economical). Tax differences.. well as I've said before its the equivalent of about 8 quid a month.. boohoo.

Oh and the 3 companies in the states are very close to releasing their turbo kits, for around $7000USD which is slightly more appealing than the £20k+ quotes I had from HPA.

If you don't swap atleast nick his brakes

And yes R32 production has stopped, there won't be a V6 Golf again.. so there is a certain amount of exclusivity (not counting vw shows i've only seen 4 others on the road)

TBH I certainly would not be paying that much.. but if your going for a fully spec'd one and go to a dealers then you almost deserve to be ripped off

For 15k , get an edition 30!!!, they are around for that figure!. Cheaper to run, has GTi thrills and some more to the mix. Looks better imo, i know Toph has said its only £8 a month tax increase, but remember you dont pay it every month, £440 a year is a much bigger hit then £260. Your visit the fuel station a day quicker then with a GTi, and its still does have some sort of exclusivity.

The only thing that has a huge plus over any GTi is the V6 soundtrack. Its underpowered and  tooo heavy.

But the R badge has always had the Racing pedigree with it, so if your want it , go get it!
