If you remember the reg no couldn't you report it to the Police and claim off his insurance?

Sorry to hear about the damage, I know from experiance how heart wrenching it can be
Unfortunately the police will say they can not do anything without an actual witness/cctv.. been there done that...
No good hearing about all these incidents... these cars too much for yas?
Seriously though...never right when your pride and joy is damaged..

I've got 2 dents on the same door from car parks and a deep scratch on the rear quarter, probably over £1000 to repair, but its 2 years old now so I'm well passed caring, as if I spent that money I'd never get it back.

lifes too short!!

Sorry to hear mate - take it to the bodyshop and get an estimate. At least you will get the car good as new.

I normally park well away from other cars but if I have to I now take pics of adjoining vehicles with my mobile. Starter for ten anyways

Well worth checking the CCTV if it exists/they let you - tell them you'll be writing to the local paper as you've heard this is a regular occurrance in this car park

Sorry to hear about that

Green paint? Sounds like someone went in, hit your motor and then backed out straight away, leaving the next guy to park next to you.

I live in fear of supermarket carparks full of old, shortsighted biddies who should have had their licences revoked 20 years ago!!

....One of my pet hates: Handicap blue badge cars which park absolutely anywhere and get away with it regardless of the dangers their parking is creating. I have been known to tell some of them to their faces that they must be disabled in the head to park in such a place. I'm not talking about drivers with obvious mobility problems.

I know your pain.  I came out of my apartment last year to find a note on my C2 VTS (I'd owned since new), giving apologies for reversing into the front of my car.  HOW could you accidentally reverse into someone's car?  Did the woman go blind for a split second?  It's the big red thing parked between two white lines!!  She ruined the front bumper, and buckled the wing on the side.

I rung my insurance company, gave them her registration number, and told them she was at fault.  It was all fixed up in no time at all, and I never heard anything again, so I can only assume the insurance company believed me.  Didn't effect my insurance, and I never had to contact the police :)
