I know your pain. I came out of my apartment last year to find a note on my C2 VTS (I'd owned since new), giving apologies for reversing into the front of my car. HOW could you accidentally reverse into someone's car? Did the woman go blind for a split second? It's the big red thing parked between two white lines!! She ruined the front bumper, and buckled the wing on the side.
I rung my insurance company, gave them her registration number, and told them she was at fault. It was all fixed up in no time at all, and I never heard anything again, so I can only assume the insurance company believed me. Didn't effect my insurance, and I never had to contact the police
