Hmm, think my temp sensor's knackered...
« on: 06 September 2008, 11:42 »
Ok, so I've been having trouble starting the old girl in th emornings recently- takes ages to fire, then coughs for a couple of minutes, then gets going and is ok for most of the day then....

Saw a post on the forum that suggested temp sensor, so I just Vag Com'd the car with the engine running, and although the car was stone cold, the coolant temp was 145 degrees C on the vagcom reading!!!!!

Now, this can't be right, so I reckon the sensor's shagged.....So, where is it? is it that little one on the right side of the head, its an ADY 8 valve engine by the way!

Ah right! Am I right in thinking that is also the temp gauge sensor? It's just that my temp gauge reads correctly...

Is there 2 parts to the sensor?

Its 1 sensor but does the ecu and gauge!!.... and you can have a perfect reading but fueling can be way out!
