When in doubt, Buy a old Mk1 from a scrappy, Rip out the frame and carry the parts over.

You're all so cool.  cheers for the support.  I may need help with stuff as i'm a little lost upstairs as to what to do at the mo.  Brcause of the car, I'm willing to somehow find the money to fix if poss!  Can't bring myself to give up on it.  As for d-clamps and trees.  I wouldn't know ehere to start, would defo have to have someone look at it.  I'm gonna have a think tonight and make some kind of plan.  firstly,  where shall i put her for the time being.  ???

If your ok to payout ?50-?100 per month, I would put her into a garage until you sort something out. Its a cheap way to keep her safe and out of sight.

Good luck

Easy mate...
1. Find a tree
2. Take outer wing, front passenger head light and Grill off
3. position car facing the tree
4. Put the D-clamp throught the headlight hole so it clapms on either side of the inerwing
5. Tie rope around clamp and tree
6. reverse slowly to get tension, once thesion reached, reverse a little harder.....

 ;)

totally feel your pain.

i total'd mine a few months back. The good thing about old skool golfs is that you can fix them in a few hours. after that its down to a spray job.

chin up. get well soon :)
