Hello matey - what have the insurance company said so far? seeing as the incident was caused by someone swerving a dog on the road, which isn't what your supposed to do might be able to work an angle here.....

"You were a safe distance from the car in front, having a mk4 GTi he could stop in half the distance you could having a mark one, the car in front of him isn't supposed to swerve an animal in the road as it causes accidents - as this proves" ... might get some comeback of his insurance!

Worth a phone call -  what do you reckon ?

Shaun it was a pleasure mate, we were just f**kin gutted for you. Fair play, it takes bollocks to write off your pride and joy and still make the effort to get to the show.

I shed tears today.  Feel like a bit of a woofter but understandable.  With all the other s**t that?s going on in my life this was kinda the final straw.  My little escape is no more.  Wish it was my fault then I wouldn't feel so bad, sounds silly but you know what I mean.  I'm still glad I went to the show, cos being towed straight home would have left me in a right state, meeting you guys made things better. You're a top geeza gaz and hope we all meet up again soon.

15 miles from the show and cars are swerving everywhere, two dogs that strayed from a gypsy camp were in the middle of the road, 1 car panicked, slammed on the brakes and the rest is obvious. The gypo's didn't claim responsibility.  The car gets towed away to a lock up and 3 hours later, one of the people involved takes me to the show as he was going anyway.  Thanks mate. (Although you?re prob gonna claim off me!)  Luckily rich sent me his number the day before so I can text him to meet up.  If he hadn?t of done that then I would've had to of gone straight home.  Thanx to gav and Rich for sneaking me into the campsite!

David, I haven?t spoke to insurance yet, about to.  Just got out of hospital as my neck started swelling up, can't move!  Bizarre!  I spoke to the witness, but he didn't even know the cars in front had collided before I went in.  Shame really.  Not holding out much hope.  I'll let you know what happens.

If anybody see's any black MK1's for sale for good money then please let me know.  Mustn?t be too expensive as I?ve still got ?3k to pay off for this car!  :'(

Thanx to gav and Rich for sneaking me into the campsite!

^^^^^^I can't believe we did anything like that :o :P

Seriously though, remove the airbox, metering unit and battery etc., and have a good look at that chassis rail, the structure around the turret and the chassis area around your wishbone.......might also help to take the wing off if you can.
Make sure that damage isn't repairable before writing it off. You'd be amazed what can be straightened out.

Totally agree with Gav, not sure I'd have carried on and gone to the show after that........not even with advanced tickets, fair play to you.
Hopefully see you and many others at Action.

The only way I could win anything is if the police did the driver at the front of the accident for dangerous driving.  They didn't.  so the mk4 will now claim off me!  ?3k gone..  The suspension turret is twisted a little and has cracked around the seams. hmmmmmmmmmmm, if only you could have a proper a look at it.  Not sure what to do right now.  :'(

gutted mate...  I'm really feeling for ya...  looks pretty nasty but my car has been in a front ender, twice..  Previous owner, my mate, sliped on ice and went into a skip, buggered the front passenger side bit like your, nothing a tree, bits of rope and a D vice couldnt sort out, second time was me, went into a WOMAN at a round about, got that trusty rope and D clamp out again...  After I sold it a pro/cowboy did it , with  new wing, a bit of brute force and some gentle hammer persuasion he seems to have done a goodish job....  Good luck in you decision mate...
Race ya...

Where abouts are you located? i can get very cheap parts from GSF, I know there usally low quality but if theres anything you need i can get a 10% discount from there and try to take some of the expences of repairing a car from you  8) If you need any help with your car dont hesitate to ask. Me and im sure some of the other members would be happy to drive up to where ever you are to help you get your car back on the road.

Right guys???
