factual by the way) comment back to Mike, whos posts are always funny and interesting.
He was, by the way, referring to a standard GTI. (Which has a 0-62 in 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 145mph).
I was referring to the 350SLK, Which has a 0-62 in 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 155mph electronically restricted. Thats from the showroom, by the way, no additional parts added, and it will do this day in, day out. Hence, they ARE faster than a GTI, AND the ED30. By over a second 0-62.
Going further, an AMG 55 SLK has a 0-62 in 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 155mph again electronically restricted.
From memory, a STANDARD ED30 has a 0-62 in 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 151mph.
There was never any mention of "fishing", "pi$$ing" or "better than" as you mention it, intended or otherwise. You really shouldn't read things that aren't there
Of course a GTI would kill an SLK, the
only one being a 200 Kompressor.
No one mentioned ED30 and their total road dominance, (Next i'll hear Audi have now dumped their V8 FSI from the R8 and just used a remapped ED30 ??
