is it possible to get a feed to my car stereo so it comes on with the ignition as i need to keep turning it off when i switch the car off thanks.

well i know my aftermarket sony stereo turns on and off with igination sounds like its not been connected on yours

well it was a garage that done this any ideas on what wire or wires might be wrong.

Post this in the Electrical section and you will have your answer in no time.

My wifes does the same, its something to do with the permanent live connection wo it, if you swap over the red and yellow push connections behind the unit then it should work (didnt on mine but it does on most apprently!)

piece of piss to sort out...

you have a perm live and an ignition live yellow and red wires on the back of the stereo, they have either put the ignition live into the perm live socket, together ( which is quite normal as they have a double bullet socket to do this on most stereos) or they have the wires the wrong way round...
