removing spoiler

Thinkin of removing the rear spoiler off my gti for the auro look. Does it just pull off or is it through the glass?

Its bolted through and mastic on the back of it. You need to get some rubber grommets to fill holes or replace with gl/cl glass.

yeah its a 2 minute job,3 bolts on the back i think.probably be easiest to just get some grommets for the holes! :wink:

3 bolts, job done. grommits from halfrauds or other places.

Im going to take mine off to spray soon :D

Just for info, mine had small covers over the nuts which are the correct size to blank the holes.

be carefull tho if you use those as they aint propper grommets, they are just caps and may leak water in

That could be why I have water in my boot most times that it rains then, cheers for the info will get some proper gromets asap.

They fit fine, ive ran them on my boot for a yr now and not had any issues whatsoever...

your lucky then, they aint propper grommets, they wont seal correct no matter what, just use the propper thing, they cost pence

They may be "ok" but for the sakes of a quid you can have properly sealing gromits that sit flush with the glass, not big black nipples stickin out  :grin:
