Good fuel consumption mate its petrol power for me though all the way. Would have a cheap diesel for a run around though.
Golf SOLD. Replaced with a Yamaha Raptor 660 quad and loving it. This will be replaced in August with a Raptor 700. Sold the quad now got a Vectra GSI 2.5 V6 and its the nuts.

Seeing as the mrs is learning to drive, and she wants a car anyway, I'm trying to steer her toward a diesel.  That way we have my Golf when when we want to e somewhere fast, or in comfort, and her diesel that she can learn in, or we do a long trip can save some money on fuel.

It's swearing I know, but we're thinking of a 306 diesel, or perhaps turbo diesel.

in October at the rolling road Bob i'll take you out in my diesel and you can decide if its 'slow'

dare i say it but there's nowt wrong with a 306 - one of the best looking hatches IMO

if you want ultra economy get a Lupo TDI

I know they're fast, I just like yanking your chain ;)  Spin would be good though, I've been in a mates old mk4 diesel, but I think his was only a 130, still shifted though!

I reckon those 306's are nice, one of the few cars she can get for 500 notes, that is half decent.  Good driving position, comfortable, and the cabin is quite a nice place to be.
