Anyone recommend a GTi

Ok, im looking to purchase a 2nd Motor, preferablely another GTi for the wife as it were, even to do a restore job etc on it.

What VW GTi or Model of a vw would be the best one to buy if you had £1500 to spend on a cheap runner and which model to look for. Any

 ideas you bunch of very Knowledgable peeps   :smiley:

I wish I had kept my old Lupo Gti as a second car, but I think they still fetch about 4K

Go for a MKII GTI 16V. £1500 should get you a decent one. :cool:

MkII all the way, £1,500 is plenty for a good one. You get all the fun of a Mk1 just a bit more reliable.

That was exactly what I was going to say, a decent Mk2 16 valver 5 door. (Big bumoer) Oak green was nice if I remember correctly.  Clay it, get it polished up with a PC or the G220, (good excuse for you to get one) and a decent full  service.

I prefer to spend my valuable time cleaning rather than take photos, upload them etc etc. There's beer to be drunk, detailing materials to order, a batcave garage to build, overtime to pay for said garage... :wink:
